SUMMER SESSION 2!
NATURE BAKERY 🪱
Wednesday June 11th
10:30am- 11:30am
at Leonard R. Pierce Memorial Park
What will the session look like?
1. Welcome Activity
Pick your Woodland Pup & Prep your Paw Print Apron!
2. Read Aloud
Once Explorers and Guides have settled in, we will read our book.
3. Introduce the Feature Creature
Our Feature Creature is a Dog, a creature who uses their nose to explore the world—like how chefs smell ingredients with their nose. Dogs have a natural instinct to hide their food in dirt or leaves and they use their paws to dig, grab, or mix—similar to mixing ingredients in baking.
4. Nature Bakery
After kids get into character as nature bakers by decorating a nature-inspired “apron” to wear during class, they will make pretend treats for their woodland dog and other baked goods using recipe cards and their imagination! Ingredients include but are not limited to….mud, grass, leaves, bugs, rocks, bark etc.!
5. Free Play/Snack/Stamps & Stickers
As always, Explorers are the leaders. Wherever play takes them is where we go! Would love to include Water Play at the end if time and weather permits. And of course, we love our snack time with stamps, stickers, and feature creature cards to send off!
